New Conservation Easement in Hot Sulphur Springs

At the end of 2020, Colorado Headwaters Land Trust secured a new conservation easement in Hot Sulphur Springs. The conservation easement was granted by Kathryn and Max Webel and their family along Himebaugh Creek. This 275-acre conservation easement was donated in part by the family and other funds were granted from the Open Lands, Rivers, and Trails Fund (OLRT) of Grand County, the Gates Family Foundation, the Muley Fanatic Foundation, Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Habitat Protection Program, and Colorado Headwaters Land Trust. The property will be protected as scenic open space and wildlife habitat. Plentiful wildlife use the property, including big game, predators, and migratory birds.
